Harmony Laramie River Rainbow

Laramie River Rainbow

Laramie River Rainbow was painted by 18 students plus staff from Harmony & Centennial Elementary Schools in Wyoming.

Looking straight West at the Snowy Range of the Medicine Bow Mountains, our mural celebrates our beautiful and, our mountains (deep blue purple), our plains (red pink yellow) and our Laramie River watershed (green blue). Laramie River is L running through Harmony and the Little Laramie River is R running through Centennial. (They meet up further Eclose to the Laramie township). Looking closely to the L, you can see Harmony School with its Mustang hoof print symbol, the near by Water Treatment Plant (waterdrop), Woods Landing (pine tree), Jelm Mountain with it’s Observatory (star) and the kids ranch brands. Central you will see Rob Roy Reservoir (top), Sheep Mountain, Lake Hattie Reservoir with plains lakes, and the stunning wind eroded Big Hollow (wind symbol) . To the R you can see the Medicine Bow Peak Mountain lakes at the top, the Centennial School with its Wolf Cub symbol and the kids ranch brands. Our mural is inspired by Aboriginal culture and indigenous wisdom of “Caring for Country”. The land topography mapping and the dot painting tradition are ceremonially intended for the regeneration four water and land, maintaining all life in abundance and balance, “bringing the happiness to the land “with the right amount or rain
